Happy Birthday Paige!!!

Our sweet Paige turned 2 on the 15th. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. We had a great time celebrating Paige's special day be having a party on Saturday with friends and family. On Sunday we were able to have a yummy breakfast with Uncle Ty and Grandma Toni before they headed home and then we spent some time at the aquarium. I think she had a great time.

Getting Crafty

So this last week a friend of mine posted that she was making coffee cozies. I was intrigued and asked her if it was easy. She told me if I could sew in a straight line then I could do it. So today after Paige & I took Piper to school, we headed over to Karissa's house to make a cozy. I must say she was right. They are super fun and easy to make. I think these will make some cute and handy gifts when I need them. If you are interested in making some, check out the tutorial here!

I know that this is a super late post, but better late then never. We had a great Christmas. We loved having some family time and relaxing. Here are just a few pictures from our fun holiday.

We finally put up our Christmas tree after Thanksgiving and I honestly think that it is the best one yet.
Paige really loves to sit by the fire place and check out the lights and ornaments. I think that this is one of my most favorite pictures EVER!

Red Ribbon Week

This past week Piper's school celebrated being drug-free with Red Ribbon Week. Each day they had a different theme for the kids and teachers to participate in. This is how the week went:

Monday: Wear as much red as you can! Tuesday: "Don't let drugs sneak up on you!" Wear sneakers.

Wednesday: "Sock-it to drugs!" Wear crazy socks.

Thursday: "Hats off to being drug free!" Wear a hat.
Friday: Living drug-free is no sweat!" Wear sweats.
I thought it was cute that they had a theme for each day. Piper loved participating and it was great to see all the other kids and teachers at the school participate as well.

Pumpkin Patch

What a fun and beautiful day today for a trip to the pumpkin patch. We visited The Berry Ranch in Nampa this morning and had a fantastic time. The girls got to see lots of different farm animals, go on a hayride, and pick their own pumpkins. This is definitely a tradition I would like to start. Here are just a few of the many pictures I took today.
Since Poppy Rick had to work this morning, we brought Mica Shae along with us. She is more like a sister than a friend. We just love her.

Fall Family Fun Night

Last night Piper's school hosted a Fall Family Fun Night for the students. There were lots of activities for the kids and most importantly the kids got to wear their costumes. I didn't take my camera to the school but I did manage to grab a few shots of the girls all dressed up before we left.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we decided to surprise Doug by raking up all the leafs in the backyard. Of course you can't rake up and get rid of the leafs without playing in them (and taking pictures) first. As you can see the girls had a blast! They were sad when I disposed of the big pile, but when I explained that there would be more leafs to play in soon they were happy again.

Donuts with Dad

Last Friday was Donuts with Dad at school. Not only did Piper get to take daddy to school with her, she also got to wear a hat. We received an email the night before from the principal saying that the kids had had such an awesome start to the school year so for a reward they could all wear hats on Friday. Piper had to try on all her hats to see which one she liked the best and ended up choosing her crocheted hat. She looked so cute! When I picked her up that afternoon she told me she had the best day. She loved eating donuts with her daddy and everyone loved her hat. I don't think she could have smiled bigger.

Freezer Jam

When my mom was here a couple of weeks ago we decided to make a couple of batches of freezer jam. Piper couldn't wait to help out. She loved chopping up the strawberries and raspberries with Doug's hand chopper. I think she could have done it all day. She had so much fun helping Grandma in the kitchen and surprising daddy with some super yummy jam.

Just had to share with everyone that Paige used the potty tonight! For the past month she has been sitting on the potty but that is it. Tonight she sat on it before she got in the tub and we had major success. We are so proud of our sweet Paige!!!!!

First Day of School!

Today was a very big day at our house. Today was Piper's first day of school. She is officially a kindergartner. She was so excited and a bit nervous today. She picked out her clothes last night before bed and requested cinnamon rolls for breakfast. After we had a yummy breakfast and did some pictures at the house, Doug and I loaded her in the car for her special day.

She skipped all the way up the steps - she has so happy to be at school.
It didn't take Piper long at all to make some friends. This is where we had to say good-bye. Yes, both Doug and I had tears in our eyes. Piper waved to us, said she loved us and walked right in.
When she got home today, she had a ton of stuff to tell us. She even brought home a fun poem with her hand print on it. I can't wait to frame it and hang it up. I can't believe that my baby, the little person I was afraid I might break those first couple of weeks home from the hospital, is big enough to be in school.

As usual things have been busy around here and to be honest downloading pictures from my camera have been my last priority. But I finally sat down for a few minutes at my computer and I wanted to share some fun pictures from this month.

Doug and I noticed the moon the other night as we were heading to bed. We grabbed the camera and headed outside. I love how quiet it is at night. Poppy Rick, Piper, and Paige hanging out in the hammock. Those girls sure do love their godfather and we are so lucky that he loves them right back.

Grandma and Grandpa gave Piper some money this last weekend and she decided that she wanted to buy her own backpack for school. Before we headed to the store she had already made up her mind that she wanted a Rapunzel backpack. As soon as she saw this one in the store she told me that we didn't need to look anymore. I swear if I would let her wear this to bed she would. She is so excited to wear her new clothes, use her backpack, and start school. We are two weeks away from her first day and she is just bouncing with excitement.

Rapunzel, Cornelius, and Charlie. Yes the baby birds in our backyard finally hatched. This is the first little head that popped out of the nest.
Today all three finally made an appearance. Both Piper and Paige enjoy sitting outside watching Momma Bonnie bring the babies food. Though they are messy little things, it has been fun watching it all happen from our swing in the backyard.

Things have been pretty crazy lately so I haven't been taking as many pictures as I should have. With a birthday, wedding anniversary, holiday, and Piper leaving on her first big girl trip all within a week, I have been one busy mama. But I have managed to snap a few pictures here and there. We have a new tenant living in our backyard. When we got back from our weekend in Oregon, we found that someone had moved in. They have worked so hard on the nest, we decided not to knock it down.
This isn't the best picture, but every time I walk outside the bird takes off. Luckily we have a great view of the nest from our bathroom window.

While we were in Oregon the wind blew constantly. Both girls, especially Paige, had runny noses and a cough so we stayed indoors most of the time. But for a short while the sun came out so we headed outdoors for some fresh air. Since the wind was still howling I insisted that the girls wear their hoods up. Paige did not like having her jacket hood up so we had to stick a hat on over hers. I thought she looked just like a gnome. What do you think?

4 Wheeler Fun

This past weekend for Father's Day we went to Oregon to visit Doug's parents. We had lots of fun things planned for the weekend, but alas the weather did not permit any of it to happen. Luckily though the rain went away for a bit and the sun came out so the girls were able to enjoy riding on the 4-wheelers with Grandpa and Grandma. Even though things didn't go as planned we still had a great time playing and visiting. The girls had an absolute blast and Doug and I got in some relaxation time. We can't wait to go back soon!

I Can't Believe It!

Piper is officially a 5 year old! She had such an amazing birthday week. The Saturday before her actual birthday we celebrated with Rock Star party at Poppy Rick's house. I think that it was the best one yet! She was so excited to get a bigger bike!

On the day of her actual birthday Piper chose to go to the coffee shop. We all got up and headed to Moxie Java for some yummy coffee drinks (the girls shared an Italian soda) and played some games. She was in heaven.

That night after opening presents and eating dinner at Poppy Rick's house we came home to have some birthday cake before bed.
I know I say this all the time - but she is just the most amazing little girl. She is so smart, kind, and loving. I am so blessed to be her mama. I love you Piper!!!!

With spring coming and seeing all the plants at the nurseries, Piper decided that she wanted to plant a garden. We are not really set up for a garden so I decided that we would have to come up with a new plan. I found these little green houses at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and Piper was thrilled with the idea of growing something. Her first plant was an eggplant but it only lasted 48 hours before Paige got ahold of it and dumped it all over the floor. So back to the store we went and this time she picked out a sweet pepper plant. To be honest with you I really didn't think that anything was going to grow, but as you can see there are sprouts! Piper is so excited!!! She checks on her little plant everyday and gives it words of encouragement. It is so cute to watch. It will be interesting to watch the progress of her little project.

Easter Sunday

We had such a nice relaxing Easter. Doug took Piper camping that weekend so we didn't start our celebration until they got home that afternoon. As soon as they walked in the door Piper asked if the Easter Bunny had come. We told her to look out the back door and see for herself. There were eggs everywhere! She couldn't wait to grab her basket and head out for a fun egg hunt. Paige was so excited that Piper was excited and couldn't wait to get outside with her big sister. Since Paige is a new walker, Doug took Paige around and helped her collect some eggs for her basket.

When the girls got done outside, they came in to find their Easter presents.

It was such a nice and relaxing day. I am so thankful for my family. I truly am blessed!

Camping Fun!

This past weekend Doug took Piper on a special daddy/daughter camping trip to the desert. They both had so much fun. They went on hikes, rock hunting, 4 wheeling, and had a big camp fire. Piper especially had a good time sleeping in the van. She thought that was the best. She hasn't quit talking about all the fun they had since they got home. I know she is anxiously awaiting for the next camping adventure with her daddy.

No not a real pony but a little pony tail. I decided to see if Paige finally had enough hair to stick in a pony tail. Well she had just enough for a bit of hair to stick straight up. Oh boy is Paige changing everyday. I love watching her grow and experience new things. As you can see, our little one has received a new tooth. We are up to 7 and still counting. She seemed to handle this last one a bit better then the others. I was trying to get her to smile at me so I could see her cute little chompers, but she decided to act shy. I couldn't resist snapping this pic. Paige has also discovered shoes. She doesn't like wearing her own shoes, but she likes to wear and play with other's shoes. I found her the other day working really hard trying to get into Doug's shoes. When she finally got both feet in she was super proud of herself. She looked at me and it was like she was saying, "See Mom, I told you I could do it." I sure do love this little munchkin.

Yup, she got another one. Piper has been doing odd jobs around the house to earn money. She wanted a new doll and Doug & I told her she could get one if she paid for it herself. She worked really hard for a couple of months and finally saved enough money to buy Dot Starlight. She was so proud walking into the store with her wad of $1.00 bills. She went right to the doll section, picked up the one she wanted and went to the checkout stand. When the teller gave her the total, she handed over her money and said, "this should cover it." The teller and I both burst out in giggles. I can't believe how big my little girl has gotten. I am so proud of her for setting a goal and sticking to it. Another new thing Piper has discovered is Just Dance for the Wii. The weather has been so crappy here lately that we all have had a bit of cabin fever. I was trying to think of something active we could do in house and remembered the Just Dance game my mom had got for me. I had played it but Miss Piper hadn't. She absolutely loves it! She has actually gotten pretty good at it. I don't know where she got her rhythm from, because I know it's not from me. I love to see her jumping around and smiling. We can't wait for the good weather to arrive, but until it does, we know we can have a dance party and that is okay with us.

As all of you know now, Piper loves Lalaloopsy dolls. She is obsessed with them. She loves each and every one of them and wants to collect the whole lot. Well the newest doll out is a boy named Patch Treasurechest. When I heard he was being released, I thought he would be pretty easy to find. Boy was I wrong. I started my search by checking all of our local stores - no one had him. I then went on-line. Again, out of stock. I resorted to calling stores when I knew they got trucks in (yes, I know a bit crazy) and still no Patch. I finally decided that I was making myself crazy and decided to quit looking and just give the little bugger some time to make it to Boise. Well, low and behold, Grandma Toni called me on a Saturday night. She had to run to Wal-Mart for something and there was Patch, in Burley, all by himself. She snagged him up right away. As you can see, he has found a good home. Piper was so excited to see him and add him to her collection. Thank you Grandma for hunting and finding Patch for us!

St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We didn't do a whole lot to celebrate, but we did start out our morning with green pancakes. Both girls were a bit unsure about the color, but once they tasted them they thought they were ok to eat. We wore green for the day (I never got pics of that) and we also made cupcakes and decorated them with green sprinkles. All in all it was a fun day.

Piper got a new friend! As most of you know, Piper's new love is Lalaloopsy dolls. She loves every single one of them and wants to collect them all. She asked Doug and I what she could do to earn another doll, so the two of us put our heads together and came up with a plan. We told her that if she could keep her playroom and bedroom clean for one month then she could have a new friend. Boy did she work hard. Every morning when she got up she made her bed and straightened her room. Throughout the day, she kept her playroom and her other toys picked up. She got so good at picking up that we didn't even have to remind her anymore to get her things put away. After the month was up, she received Spot Splatter Splash - just the doll she wanted. We are so proud of you Miss Piper. We love you!!!!

Meet the Lalaloopsies. Piper loves these dolls. She saw them last spring at the store and wanted one in a bad way. She finally got a couple for Christmas and was over the moon. She loves them so much that she has decided that she wants to collect them all.

New Hobby

Doug has a new hobby - brewing beer! For Christmas I got him a home brew kit. So a couple of weeks ago, a couple of his buddies came over and made their first batch of beer. This last Sunday, they got it bottled up and started brewing another batch. They really seem to enjoy and it is a fun way for them to have some "guy" time.

So this will probably be our last little photo shoot with the doll. I might try to do it every three months instead of one, but we will have to see. I am happy that I did it every month for the last year cause boy has she changed. Not only has she grown, but her little personality has changed too. For the most part, Paige is the happiest baby. She loves to laugh and smile. Her smile lights up a room. She has started to pull her self up to a standing position, so if I remember correctly, walking is not too far behind. She is also starting to like "big" people food. Anything that we eat she wants to try. So far, we haven't found anything that she doesn't like. She is also more verbal with what she wants. She points to things she wants and when you give her something she doesn't like, she lets you know it. She also likes to clap at things, loves to dance to music, waves hello and goodbye to people, and has currently learned to blow kisses. I know I say it every month, but I really can't believe how big she is getting.

Her newest trade - coloring! Piper was sitting down to color the other day and Paige was dying to join in. She picked up a crayon and went to town. She absolutely loved it and I now have a beautiful new picture hanging on my fridge :0)

Look Who's One!

A year ago we welcomed a new blessing into our family. Paige turned a year old on the 15th and we had a little party at the house with Poppy Rick and Mica to celebrate. I can't believe that my baby is year old!

So we had a pretty uneventful New Year's eve this year. Everyone was pretty sick with a nasty cold so we didn't feel like doing much. We had a fun dinner of finger foods and then celebrated ringing the New Year in with poppers, noise makers, and hats.

11 Months!

I know this is really late, but I have been so busy with the holiday's and everything I just haven't had time to update. Miss Paige was 11 months old on the 15th of December and when she woke that day we noticed that she had a new tooth! She is crawling up a storm and has started to pull herself up in a standing position. She has finally mastered the sippy cup and she loves to eat. She wants to try everything that we are eating and it is fun to see the stuff she really likes and stuff she doesn't care for. So far we know she likes all kinds of pasta, rice, and pancakes. She also loves to listen to music and dance. I am so excited that she doing all these fun new things, but is also sad because she isn't a little baby anymore.

Santa!

Yesterday I got the girls dressed up and we went to visit Santa. The girls (mostly Piper) had a blast. Piper knew exactly what she wanted and she was ready to tell the big guy. Luckily when we got there we only had to wait a couple of minutes because Piper was just vibrating with excitement. When it was her turn, she hopped on his lap, told him her name and age, and listed what she wanted. When she was done, she gave him a hug and told him she loved him. I thought it was so cute. Paige on the other wasn't too into it. She sat on his lap long enough for me to take a quick picture and then I could tell she was done. I picked her up before she could even think about crying. All in all it was a fun time. I'm glad we got to go.

Slumber Party

The other day Piper was laying in our bed watching some early morning cartoons and she wanted Paige to join her. Paige wasn't into laying around, but she did hold still long enough for me to get a couple of pictures. I am so happy that they love each other as much as they do. I hope they will always be best friends.

10 Months Old!

Yes I know I am late again, but this last month just got away from me. I say it every month, but I just can't believe that my baby is 10 months old already. I still remember feeling her moving around in my tummy. Now is just moving anywhere and everywhere she can go. She isn't hands and knees crawling yet, but boy can this baby army crawl. She is quick! She also has four brand new teeth - two on the bottom and two on top. She is super proud of them. She loves to show them off by smiling and of course taking a nip here and there. We never were able to get her to drink from a bottle, but we were able to teach her to drink out of a straw. She loves to drink water and juice just like her sister. She also enjoys trying new foods. I usually feed her first and then she sits at the table while we eat. Lately, she lets it be known that she wants to try what we are having. So far we have found she loves pasta, potatoes, and avocados. She also loves to talk. She especially likes to say dada and get Doug's attention. It is just too cute. All in all, my baby is getting bigger and bigger everyday. I love her so much and I am so happy to be her mama. Check out this toothy grin!

Snow Day!

Last night we had over 7 inches of snow fall. When Piper got up this morning she was practically shaking with excitement. She couldn't wait to get dressed and head out into the snow. Her fantastic snowlady!

Last Saturday Mica Shae came over to hang out for awhile. To keep to the girls busy, I thought it would be a good idea to put a gingerbread house together. The girls totally got into it and loved creating and decorating the house. It was fun to just sit back and see where their imaginations took them.

We all have something to smile about today. Paige got her first two teeth today! She has been struggling so bad with her teeth lately and has just been miserable. I was so happy to see that the two little buggers finally broke through. Hopefully she can get a bit of a break before the next ones appear.

Yes this is late, but I still wanted to share a couple of pics of the cutest witch and pumpkin around. I was unable to take a picture of the girls together (neither one was in the mood for a quick photo session) but at least I was able to get a shot of each girl. I was so happy that the weather held out and we missed the rain. Piper had an absolute blast trick or treating with Doug and some neighbors and Paige and I enjoyed handing out candy. Piper filled her bucket to the brim and we now have enough candy to last for awhile (I don't know if that is a good or bad thing). I can't wait for next year when both girls can go together!

...on a fall day? Take pictures while playing in the leafs of course. It was a beautiful outside so we decided to play in the last of the leafs that are left in our yard. I think both girls enjoyed it.

Today we took Paige for her 9 month pics with the fabulous Miss Lala from Shady Lane Studios. I got this hat last year at a craft show when Paige was still in my tummy and have been saving it for a special occasion. I love it! I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.

9 Months!

She is 9 months old. I cannot believe that my baby is 9 months old! Paige just had her nine month doctor's appointment and she is moving right along. She weighs 16 lbs 15 ozs. and she is 28 1/4" long. She is such a happy baby. She is trying to crawl but has decided that she can get where she needs to go by scooting on her tummy. She is a good little eater and we haven't found anything that she doesn't like. We are having a bit of a time trying to get her to drink from a sippy cup. She prefers me and is pretty bullheaded (she gets it from Doug - sorry honey) about trying anything else. She loves to play with her toys especially her stuffed animals. Whenever she gets a new "lovey" she just holds them up to her face and gives them big loves. She is such a little treasure - my Paige.

Fall Fun!

Every October we all try to be home for a weekend to go to the pumpkin patch. Last weekend, most of us made it. We were missing Dina, Doug, Taylor and Blayke but we were still able to have some family fun. In the morning we all met up at the pumpkin patch for pictures and of course to pick out some pumpkins. Afterwards, we went to Al's pizza for lunch. Then everyone took a much needed afternoon nap. After our rests, we went to Sara's dad's house and the kids had a blast playing in the leaves and the swing set. All in all, it was a great weekend. I can't wait for next year!

We finally did it! We got Piper's hair cut today. I love it and more important Piper loves it. She looked in the mirror when we got home and said, "Mom, I just love it! I think I look five!" I just adore her! A big shout out goes to Nikki at Serenity Salon - You are the best!!!!!

8 Months!!!

These are late - again. But better late than never I guess. Anywho...Sweet Paige is 8 months old! I can't believe it. She is getting so big - I can't believe how fast time is going by. She loves to eat and we haven't found any foods that she doesn't like. She is also starting to talk more and more. Her first word was "mama" and yes my heart just swelled! She is also trying to crawl. She gets up on her legs or her arms but not both at the same time. She is just a joy to have around. She make everyone smile and laugh everyday.

I know these are a bit late but my little Paige has had a cold for the last week and just hasn't been in the mood to have her picture taken. She is getting so big and is changing everyday. She loves to smile and talks all the time. She still lights up when ever she sees her big sister and just squeals when Bigslee walks into the room. She is such a happy baby and an absolute joy to be around.

6 Months Old!

Paige turned 6 months old last week! I can't believe it! She is getting so big. She had her appointment and she is right on track. She weighs 14 lbs. 14 ozs. and is 27 inches long. She can roll over (and over and over). She is starting to sit up on her own. She has also started eating solid foods. So far we haven't found anything she doesn't like. Her favorite "toy" to play with is her toes. She always has a foot in her hand - when she is laying down, nursing, or just hanging out on the couch. She is just the happiest baby to have around. We are so blessed to have her in our family.

A Little Summer Fun

Claire has come over for a few play dates this summer. The girls love the bounce house!!!

We went to Grandma's house for a week and played with Michael and Marc. One of the fun things we did was make tye-dye shirts for all the kids.

I Love Free Stuff!

The other day I got a couple of coupons in the mail from Osh'Kosh and Carter's. They were both save $10 off your purchase of $10 or more. So off to the outlet mall the girls and I went. My goal was to spend very little if any money. Our first stop was Osh'Kosh. I was able to find a cute little tank and some shorts for Piper. Each piece was $5. So with my coupon, we walked out of the store without spending a penny (not even sales tax!). After that we went to Carter's where I was able to get a cute little short outfit for Paige. Again, each piece was $5. I am happy to report that we left both stores with two complete outfits and I didn't have to pull out my wallet once.

Tuesday Art

On Tuesday Piper did two different art projects. The first one was decorating and painting a visor. Piper had a lot of fun putting some summer-like stickers on her new hat and making it a bit more colorful with some paint.
Her second project was painting. I bought some blank canvases the other day and let her go to town on them. She loved painting like a "real" artist.

5 Months Old!

I can't believe that my sweet Paige is already 5 months old. She is getting cuter everyday. One of her biggest milestones this last month is eating rice cereal and oatmeal. It was a rough start, but she loves them now. Soon we will be conquering veggies and fruits. She has also started to sleep a bit more at night. She actually slept through the night for last three nights ( yea me!) She loves to be around people; she especially likes to go out shopping in the stroller with me and her big sister. She also loves to jump in her jumperoo. She loves it so much that sometimes she jumps herself to sleep. It is a pretty cute sight. All in all, she is a happy baby and an absolute joy. We are so lucky that she is ours.
